Tour duration: 4 Hours
A great way to explore the magic of the south shore of PEI. You will visit quaint villages, see panoramic views of the coastline and farmland, and a visit to the eighth wonder of the world, our Confederation Bridge. You will begin with a drive through Charlottetown, the Island’s capital, before heading out along the south shore.
On our way to our first stop, you will see the Confederation Bridge that links Prince Edward Island to the province of New Brunswick. This amazing bridge which was officially opened in 1997 at the cost of 1 billion dollars, is an incredible eight miles long, making it the longest crossing over ice-covered water in the world.
You will be able to get up close to take some photographs while hearing about the history and stories behind the construction of this amazing feat. After leaving Borden-Carlton your next stop is the historic seaport village of Victoria-by-the-Sea, a haven for artists, where you will be able to explore the village along the tree-lined streets or take photographs of the picturesque lighthouse or visit the chocolate factory, Island Chocolates. Then it’s back to Charlottetown along the beautiful south shore.
