Experience Nova Scotia’s legendary south shore, renowned for its quaint villages and rugged coastal beauty. The first stop of the day will be in the town of Mahone Bay. Famous for the three churches at the head of the bay, this community is one of the most photographed villages in Nova Scotia. A stop will be made at Amos Pewter where staff will take you on a tour to show you how molten pewter is cast into sculptures, candle holders, jewelry, and other beautiful items.
From Mahone Bay we continue on to Lunenburg. Founded in 1753, Lunenburg is an excellent example of British colonial settlement in North America. Many buildings and homes date back to 1760 and the Old Town of Lunenburg still follows the original street plan of 1753. In 1995 the United Nations bestowed a major honor by declaring Lunenburg’s Old Town as UNESCO World Heritage Site. Your Driver-Guide will take you on a walking tour of the town (weather and mobility permitting, an alternative drive tour will be performed in these circumstances) before your return to Halifax.
