This beautiful coastal drive that takes you past picturesque coastal villages and inlets. En route your guide will talk bout the Maritime history of the area and how it has shaped the culture and economy of the province.
Soon you will arrive in the rugged fishing community of Peggy’s cove. With its breathtaking location on a narrow, coastal inlet characterized by wave-worn granite boulders and crashing surf, it’s easy to see why this charming little village is perhaps Canada’s most photographed site. From the Citadel, the tour winds its way through bustling downtown Halifax, along the waterfront, and to the North End site of the Halifax Explosion. The famous explosion was caused by a collision in 1917 between two ships in the Halifax harbor, one a French munitions ship, that leveled the North End of Halifax killing or injuring thousands.
