This comprehensive excursion is designed to showcase all that Prince Edward Island has to offer by incorporating the best of the Island’s north shore and the magic of the south shore and Confederation Bridge.
The tour begins with a historic exploration of Charlottetown landmarks and historical sites. A short drive through the countryside takes us to the beautiful north shore of PEI, where you will see beautiful vistas including, lighthouses, red cliffs, sand dunes, north shore beaches, mussel farms, and fishing villages.
Along the way, there will be ample stops at your leisure to explore PEI’s national park. This part of the day includes a stop at historic Dalvay by the Sea. No drive along the north shore would be complete without a visit to The Dunes, an Island icon, with beautiful, quality, island crafts and an incredible garden to explore. Then it’s on to North Rustico. This north shore Acadian fishing village was founded around 1790. Here you will be shown the famous red sandy shore and learn more about the rich farming and fishing communities. Next is a scenic drive through the PEI National Park with its beautiful views and abundance of wildlife. Then a photo stop at Green Gables House. An optional visit to Green Gables House can be arranged if you wish, though admission fees apply, and additional time would be required.
The next stop is the PEI Preserve Company for a quick taste of their world famous products and a tour of this converted old 1913 butter factory. Lunch will be reserved here at your own expense. Seasonal menus can be reviewed HERE. After lunch, it’s off to the south shore and the Confederation Bridge. On your return to Charlottetown explore the quaint fishing village of Victoria-by-the-Sea; a favorite stop for many visitors, with its shops, fishing village, and lighthouse. And, oh yes, try the homemade Island Chocolates! Upon our return to the city, we will travel past some of Charlottetown’s historic sites and its beautiful waterfront.
