The Target Tours Atlantic Team Shares PEI Secrets

Now that you’ve heard from all of our Driver-Guides we think it’s time you hear from some of the other superstars at Target Tours Atlantic.

While you might not get to meet them face to face Katie and Bryanna are always hard at work helping you get ready for your visit to PEI.

Whether it’s taking your reservation, updating you on your tour, or answering general questions about PEI (which they love to do) our office team is always there to go above and beyond. They have even been mentioned in a few of our TripAdvisor reviews which is a really kudos to their work.

1. What is your favorite stop to recommend to guests when they are planning their tours with us? Why?

Katie – My favorite places on PEI are both of my hometowns (Tignish and St Peter’s Bay).  Both of these towns are on opposite ends of the Island, which makes them a little harder to visit so if I were to pick a town closer to Charlottetown I would choose Victoria-by-the-Sea.  I LOVE LOVE LOVE the chocolate coffee at Island Chocolates and the mussels at the Lobster Barn are delicious.  Another favorite is the base of the Confederation Bridge in Borden-Carleton.  Did you know you can dress up as Anne of Green Gables and Gilbert at Shop and Play in Borden? I am also a sucker for any of the lighthouses on Prince Edward Island, one of my favorites is the Covehead Lighthouse BUT my all time favorite one is the lighthouse in North Cape.  My great grand father was the lighthouse keeper in North Cape when my grand mother was a young girl, so it holds a special place in my heart.

Bryanna – The Bluffs and Orby Head in the Prince Edward Island National Park. Here you will see our famous red cliffs and sandy beaches as well as the beautiful Gulf of Saint Lawrence. You will find an amazing backdrop for photos that you won’t be able to find anywhere else!

2. What makes Target Tours Atlantic special as a PEI Tour Operator?

Dont worry, Katie is licensed to drive this van too but we leave the Driver-Guiding to the professionals.

K – Our entire team is very passionate about the Island and Atlantic Canada in general.  Anytime I get the chance to speak and educate people about our beautiful Island is a blessing in itself.  We are so lucky to have an office team and guide team that cares so much for one another.

B – The staff at Target Tours Atlantic make the difference! We love talking to visitors to find out what brings them to PEI and what sights they would like to see. All of our private tours are customizable so that we can make sure each visitor has the best possible Island experience.

3. If you have friends or family visit PEI where would you take them?

K –  Since I live so close to Greenwich National Park, this is one of my favorite places to visit.  I love visiting here in the fall right as the leaves start to change.  It is absolutely stunning.  Depending on the season, I will usually stop at Lin’s Takeout which is located in Greenwich.

B – I love taking people to the Eastern end of Prince Edward Island! There are so many beautiful beaches, coastal towns, and gorgeous scenery everywhere you look. Greenwich National Park is one of the most stunning areas in PEI as you get to walk along paths through the forest and along boardwalks through the grassy marshland on the way to the beach!

(Editor note: Katie and Bryanna completed this questionnaire separately so it’s just a coincidence that they both love Greenwich Park! We guess that means it should definitely make it on your bucket list when you visit.)

4. What is your favorite spot to eat on PEI?

K – It’s really hard to pick just one!  Churchill Arms in Downtown Charlottetown has some of the best butter chicken curry around.  This summer I got to visit Fishies on the Roof on Victoria Row and their salt and pepper wings were to die for.  If I were to venture outside the city for a meal, it would likely be to the O’Neil Home Gallery in Malpeque, their gnocchi and fresh greens are wonderful.

B – Besides my grandmother’s kitchen? The Prince Edward Island Preserve Company is a high quality dining experience housed in an old 1913 butter factory. The owners have renovated the space and their dining room is now surrounded by huge windows providing a beautiful view of the River Clyde. They have an extensive menu that will satisfy the appetites of any visitors! Make sure to try their famous Potato Pie for dinner and don’t forget to leave room for their Raspberry Cream Cheese Pie for dessert!

5. Why do you choose to work for Target Tours Atlantic?

K – I’ve worked for Target Tours/Target Tours Atlantic since May 2015.  I have learned so much over the past three years and have grown so much as a person because of our office and guide team.  I am so thankful that I get to help guest’s dreams come true.  Many have dreamed of visiting the Island or other parts of the Maritimes since they were children.  Getting to hear the comments about our office staff and our guides make my heart swell with pride.  We can’t wait to share the Island with you!

B – Atlantic Canada is one of the most beautiful areas in Canada and should be shared with everyone. Through Target Tours Atlantic, I am able to share my love of travel with visitors to my home province. My favorite part of my job is making our clients’ travel dreams come true and hearing about how much they love Atlantic Canada!
