Our most popular tour begins with a historic exploration of Charlottetown landmarks as we drive out of the city. A short drive through the countryside takes us to the beautiful north shore of PEI, where you will see beautiful vistas including, lighthouses, red cliffs, sand dunes, north shore beaches, mussel farms, and fishing villages. The tour includes a stop at historic Dalvay by the Sea, a national historic site. There are stops along the way to explore PEI’s National Park and its beautiful beaches. Before heading to Cavendish, a stop will be arranged at The Great Canadian Soap Company. They handcraft the best goat’s milk soaps made right on their farm with fresh milk and 100% natural, high-quality oils and butters.
Then it’s on to a true gem, the harbor at North Rustico. This north shore Acadian fishing village is where you will see a working fishing village and learn about the lobster fishing industry on PEI. You’ll have the opportunity to see one of the oldest lighthouses on the Island here as well. As we depart we will drive through the PEI National Park with its beautiful views and abundance of wildlife (Island fox) and a stop at the bluffs overlooking the beach and red cliffs. Finally, a crowd favorite: it’s on to a to Green Gables House, the house of the fictional character Anne of Green Gables (photo stop only). The next stop is a brief visit to the PEI Preserve Company housed in an old 1913 butter factory for a taste of their world famous Island made preserves. Finally, we will return to Charlottetown through the beautiful hills of New Glasgow.
