Tell us about yourself

Hi there! My name is Emilie Martell and I was born and raised in Prince Edward Island. I now live in Stratford with my husband Matt. One of my first memories is traveling with my family. Every summer my parents would take us to Nova Scotia for a week, and we would see the sites. At 16 I had the opportunity to travel to North Carolina with my parents and little sister Sophie (seeing many States in-between) to stay with family friends. That year my parents took Sophie and I to Cuba for the first time. It was amazing!

In July 2018, I graduated from the Legal Administration program at Holland College. While at Holland College I became involved with the Student Union as the VP for the Summerside campuses and found my love for marketing.

Why did you apply to join the Target Tours Atlantic Team?

I love to travel! Ever since I can remember I could not wait for the summer, so I could take that week to explore the places we went to. This opportunity with Target Tours Atlantic as a Tour Coordinator is a great mixture of my love for traveling, as well as my marketing skills. I am very happy to be here.

What are you most looking forward to doing while working with Target Tours Atlantic?

Working with clients to plan their trip to Prince Edward Island. I enjoy being apart of the happy process that traveling is. It is a great feeling.

Why do you feel travel is important?

Exploring the world opens your eyes to so many different things. It gets you out of your comfort zone and shows you how other people live. It is a great opportunity to meet new people and make friends. You get to experience different cultures, learn new languages and try exciting cuisine. Traveling is an adventure. Who doesn’t want to go on an adventure?

What is your favorite hidden gem on Prince Edward Island?

I should definitely not be telling you this. But Campbell’s Road. The best place to go bar clamming when the tide is low. Sand bars as far as the eye can see! But that’s just between you and me.
