You may have read their bios but we feel like it’s about time you REALLY got to know our Driver-Guides.
Fifth in our series is Driver – Guide:
What is your favorite stop when you tour guests around PEI? Why?
It is difficult to chose one favourite stop, when Prince Edward Island has so many interesting and beautiful areas. Saying that, I love showcasing The Dunes with its gardens, Island made crafts, and beautiful art. Visitors love this stop!
How do you make your tours special?
I am as interested in my passengers as they are of the Island. I probably ask as many questions of them, as they do of me. If someone has a desire to view something that is normally not included in the tour, and if time permits, I try to fulfill their wish.
When you’re not guiding in the summers where can we find you?
My wife and I live in rural PEI and have a large acreage where we grow our own vegetables and fruit. Maintaining it is a full time job. When not in the garden, I can be found cycling the Confederation Trail.
What hidden gem on PEI do you wish you could show to more guests? Why?
It would be great fun to take guests along our red dirt roads, through the back country, viewing the farmlands and the shoreline, away from the busyness of the usual tourist areas.
Where is your favourite spot to eat on Prince Edward Island? Why?
Oh, this is a tough, I can’t choose just one! The Blue Mussel in North Rustico for the superb menu and view; The Sou’west Bar and Grill in New London for its fabulous view of the river from their great deck and The Blue Goose in Desable for the best breakfast menu!
Why do you choose to guide with Target Tours Atlantic?
I guess you could say Target Tours Atlantic chose me, for which I am grateful! This family-owned company is a first class operation who treat its staff like family. I admire the customer service Target Tours Atlantic provide. One of my passengers was amazed that her tour would still be offered, when she was the only one booked. That is exceptional service!
