FAQ – Travelers

This section applies to Private Tours, Shore Excursions, and Multi-Day Tours for Travelers and small groups (less than 10 people). This does not apply to bookings made through Travel Trade or groups larger than 10+ people.

Will there be people I don’t know on the tour?

If you book one of our Small Group Tours, there may be other people that you don’t know join the tour.  If you book a Private Tour, Shore Excursion, or Multi-day tour for yourself or for your party, only your group will be on that tour.

What’s included in the cost?

Under each tour description, the included items will be listed.  For the most part, all of your admissions to attractions will be included.  Should something not be included in your tour we will list it. You will be responsible for all your own meals and any other items you would like to purchase on tour unless otherwise indicated.

Where do the tours depart from?

The available locations of departure will be listed on each individual tour and select specialty pickups can be arranged upon request within a certain proximity to the regular departure locations.

Are children welcome on tour?

Children are a welcome addition to your tour but must be 5 years of age or older. With advance notice we are able to supply up to three booster seats but are not able to accommodate car seats or children under the age of 5 for safety reasons. Children must be toilet trained and able to sit while the vehicle is in motion.  Please note that seatbelts are required for all passengers on all tours.

Is there a lot of walking on these tours?

A lot of our tours visit historic and natural sites which are all accessed by walking.  The distances walked range per tour.  Some terrain you may experience would include broken pavement or sidewalks, sand, gravel, grass, stone, clay, and more.   We suggest a comfortable and sturdy pair of walking shoes for many of the tours. If you have mobility challenges we suggest you contact our office in advance to see if there is a tour that we can adjust to better accommodate your needs. Private tours may be more appropriate for individuals with mobility challenges. Our vehicles do not have wheelchair lifts and all participants must minimally be able to walk to and board the vehicle independently.

What should I wear on tour?

You should be aware that weather in Atlantic Canada can be unpredictable and sometimes it may seem like you are experiencing all four seasons in one day!  We suggest dressing in layers and a comfortable sturdy pair of walking shoes.  A ball cap or sun hat could be advisable and sunscreen during the summer months (July & August). During the shoulder months (May, June, September, October) bringing a light jacket or sweater is advisable.

Do I need a ticket to board the tour?

It’s good to have your booking confirmation on hand but your Tour Guide will have a list to confirm you are signed up for the proper tour and will check you in. You will not be provided a specific ticket.

Do your tours operate in severe weather?

Weather in Atlantic Canada is very unpredictable.  We operate our tours rain or shine. Please note that your itinerary will be adjusted based on the weather.  It is at the discretion of Target Tours Atlantic to cancel a tour if we feel it is unsafe.   In the case that Target Tours Atlantic makes the decision to cancel the tour, we will first try to rebook your tour or provide a full refund.

Do you offer airport shuttle service?

Yes, we do.  It must be pre-arranged through our office 48-hours prior to arrival and is subject to availability of the vehicles.  We require your name, how many passengers, your estimated arrival time, your flight number, and your desired drop off location. For requests in July, August, and September we suggest you book weeks or months in advance to ensure availability.

Are your prices in CAD or USD?

All prices listed on our website are issued and due payable in the Canadian Dollar.  Prices are subject to a 15% Harmonized Sales Tax in all four Atlantic Provinces.

What are our payment options?

When booking a Private Tour you have the choice to secure your tour by full payment or with a small 10% deposit. This way you can book with the confidence that your tour is secured with whichever method is most convenient for you.

Small Group Tours requires per person full payment at time of booking.

When paying online we accept Visa, Mastercard, or American Express. You can safely use our secured online booking system or call us with your credit card information. We cannot accept credit card information via email for security reasons.
