Cavendish Beach is Prince Edward Island’s most well-known beach and is located on the North Shore. The pink sandy beach is a popular destination for visitors and locals during the warm summer months. The famous Marco Polo ship sank just off the beach and Anne of Green Gables author L.M. Montgomery wrote a news article about the event that was picked up by newspapers in Montreal. She was only 10 years old at the time and was one of the witnesses who helped survivors once they made it to shore.
The Cavendish area offers various actives and sites for visitors to enjoy such as:
- Anderson’s Creek Golf Club
- Green Gables Golf Club
- Ripley’s Believe It or Not!
- Shining Waters Family Fun Park
- Sandspit Amusement Park
- Grandpas Antique Photo Studio
- Avonlea Village
- The Salty Pier
- and much more….
Every July, the community of Cavendish hosts the Cavendish Beach Music Festival, one of the largest multi-day outdoor music festivals in Atlantic Canada. Featuring past performers such as Luke Bryan, Sam Hunt, Kip Moore, Little Big Town, High Valley, Chad Brownlee, Keith Urban, and much more!
